My journey before UX
Hey I’m Akshat Jhawar. I was born and raised in a town near Chittorgarh, Rajasthan. I was average in everything in my childhood but then to upgrade myself, I went to Kota to prepare for JEE. There my interest piqued in psychology and human behavior. I studied about the body language and basic principles of psychology in my free time. My hard work paid off and I got into 1 of the 7 top prestigious tech colleges, IIT Roorkee. There for the first 2 years, I had given time to Web Development and was able to become a full stack Web Developer. I was quite happy with my progress and with the reopening of the colleges after the Covid outbreak.
My journey with UX
After getting into college again in my third year, I met a senior there. He is a UX designer and most amazing personality I have met. I was very intrigued with what they do and how fun it was. After some time, I started to participate in their brainstorming sessions, started working on my perspective and way of thinking, started learning about new UX terms and methodologies, and most importantly I was having fun. After feeling these things, I decided to pursue UX as a career option as it includes behavior psychology and many subjective factors can impact on the user experience of the users.
I have done 2 internships in fast-paced startups, DotReview and Sozo respectively for 6 months each. I learnt many things there like how to rapidly iterate different design solutions and how to save time by substituting and using the right methodologies. What I learnt the most was where I need to improve to become a better designer. I believe I am a much better designer now then when I finished my last internship.
Other than Design
Other than design, I love watching anime, Playing or watching football, and spending time with dogs. I also have an interest in outer space and extra-terrestrial beings so I also like to read about them. Not a big fan of finance and fashion related topics but other than that any productive thing is my cup of tea.
